Subject : TWO FUTURES
Author : Hon Will Hodgman MP
This election, Tasmanians have the choice between two futures.

The first is under the Tasmanian Liberals who will deliver the real change we need in Tasmania.

That is the real change that will deliver the leadership, the vision and hope for the future.

The second future is one under David Bartlett and Labor. And it offers four more years of the same - the same scandals, the same secrecy, the same lack of leadership, and the same poor decisions.

That's the choice Tasmanians now face - two futures.

One with us, working on behalf of Tasmanians to deliver the real change that we need.

Or one under Labor, where nothing will change.

The first future - under the Liberals - is one of honesty and integrity in government - of doing things properly, and of keeping our promises.

This first future under the Liberals is one of hope, one of creating jobs, and of driving our economy forward, and achieving our potential.

This first future under the Liberals will provide a real and positive change in direction, a change that will deliver real benefits to all Tasmanians.

In contrast - and this is the real choice that Tasmanians have - there is the second future under Mr Bartlett and Labor.

The second future under Labor is where nothing has changed.

It is another four more years of poor planning and poor processes, of too much secrecy, and of too many scandals.

It is another four more years that will replicate the past twelve.

Twelve long years of Labor - lack of honesty, lack of accountability and lack integrity.

Twelve long years of Labor which have seen our hospital waiting lists increase.

Twelve long years where our education standards are bottom of the class - but still Mr Bartlett stubbornly sticks by his failed Tasmania Tomorrow experiment.

Twelve long years where Labor has failed to invest in our productive infrastructure such as rail, our ports, and our roads - including the Midland Highway - which are literally crumbling beneath our feet.

After 12 years of Labor, it's just not good enough.

That's the second future Tasmanians face if Labor is elected - four more years of Labor failure.

Tasmania needs change.

When he was installed as Premier by the Labor back-room operators, Mr Bartlett promised this change.

He promised "new government within government."

He promised to "fix the mess".

He promised to "tell the truth at all times."

But Mr Bartlett has failed - on all three counts.

With Mr Bartlett, Tasmanians did not get change, they got more of the same.

The fact is, David Bartlett has proven to be too weak to change the culture of this Labor government.

And we all know that if you can't the culture of a scandal-ridden government then what hope have you got of changing Tasmania for the better?

Tasmania needs real change, not more of the same.

Real change that will deliver leadership, vision and hope for the future.

Real change that will drive our economy forward, by abolishing land tax within 8 years, and by building a four land Midland Highway...

Real change - a government with integrity and honesty, that is accountable, and that operates under a tough new Code of Conduct&

Real change that will achieve better health results by Building a new generation Royal Hobart Hospital and slashing waiting lists&

Real change that will raise education standards by ending Labor's education experiments, and investing $30 million to focus on better results for our kids&

And Real change that will strengthen our community and protect our lifestyle by tackling the increasing cost of living - Labor's extra water and sewerage charges, or by providing free bus travel for all school students.

This is the real change that the Tasmanian Liberals offer.

So on March 20, Tasmanians have a choice - if you want real change, vote Liberal.

If you want more of the same, vote Labor -

Or Green.

Because the fact of the matter is if you vote Green you won't change the Government.

The only way to get rid of David Bartlett and this Labor Government - the only way to get the real change Tasmania needs - is to vote for a majority Liberal Government.
