After attending today's 'information' session, I am extremely concerned that even though Southern Water claims to have done a comprehensive cost-benefit analysis of the roll out of water meters, they still can't say what the cost will be to Tasmanians.
Tasmanians simply can't afford another Labor-Green cost of living price slug.
If the Labor-Green Government wants to introduce water meters then they must show that it won't increase the cost of living, and that the new system is fair.
How much will the water cost under the new system? Southern Water has confirmed that water meters will mean that some people will pay more for water, but they couldn't even say how much.
Tasmanians deserve to know how big the price rise will be. The Liberal's position is clear. We oppose the roll out of water meters unless these questions are adequately answered.
