The Liberals know that cost of living pressures are being felt by thousands of Tasmanians on a daily basis.
But the Green-Labor Government's move to establish a Parliamentary Inquiry to further investigate the problem, on the back of a $500,000 Cost of Living strategy, is not the answer Tasmanians are looking for.
The time for talk is over. Now is time for action from Labor and the Greens - not a review of a review to produce a report on a report.
The Liberals have already announced policies to address the cost of living including introducing competition into the electricity market, and merging the water and sewerage corporations to keep bills down.
An inquiry with a report date of July 2012 would delay action until the 2013-14 State Budget - that is too late for vulnerable Tasmanians.
The pressures facing Tasmanians exist now - another talk-fest won't help ease the burden for Tasmanians doing it tough.
If the Green-Labor Government is so devoid of ideas on how to get started, they could start by adopting our policies.
