Subject : TASMANIA IDEAL LAUNCH SITE FOR NATIONAL DISABILITY INSURANCE SCHEME
Author : Jacquie Petrusma MP
The Tasmanian Liberals strongly support a National Disability Insurance Scheme and want to see Tasmania as one of the initial launch sites. Shadow Minister for Human Services, Jacquie Petrusma, attended today's rally on Parliament House lawns, calling on the Federal Government to commit funding for a national scheme. The Liberals have supported the NDIS from day one as an important step towards providing a better deal for Tasmanians born with, or who acquire a disability, and their families and carers. We believe Tasmania is the ideal state for the initial rollout of the NDIS and we will continue to work cooperatively with government and non-government service providers to realise this. All Tasmanians living with a disability deserve to be able to access the support and services they need. Lara Giddings must use any influence she might have to ensure that Tasmania gains launch site status.
