The Liberals welcome the agreement reached in the Legislative Council to avoid politicians receiving an unfair pay rise.
I note that the proposal the Premier has now adopted and that has been endorsed by the Legislative Council is almost identical to the proposal suggest by the Liberals some months ago when she asked for our views, including removing the Premier's cynical requirement that the report be presented after the next election.
Had the Premier engaged in a genuine consultation process from the outset, she could have avoided this fiasco altogether.
