In an embarrassing gaffe, Labor MP Rebecca White has said in Parliament today what all Tasmanians are thinking about the economy.
In an effort that would make even Brenton Best embarrassed, she tried to ask a pre-written, scripted question but failed and let slip that Tasmania had "minority growth", rather than a minority government.
I can understand why it was so easy for Ms White to make that mistake, because minority government and minority growth have come to mean the same thing in Tasmania since the Greens got into bed with Labor in 2010.
It's clear that the Green-Labor Government has trashed the economy. We have the highest unemployment rate in the nation, we're in recession, the building industry has all but collapsed and last year alone, over 12,000 people left Tasmania for the mainland, with many never to return.
Only the Liberals have a plan to grow the economy, create jobs and tackle the cost of living. Our Roadmap to Recovery and Growth will make Tasmania stand on its own two feet again and provides the hope and vision that Tasmanians are desperately crying out for.
