Medical Cannabis Scheme working

The fact that applications have already been received for the Controlled Access Scheme proves that it works, in line with qualified doctors making careful assessment of their patients.
The Controlled Access Scheme is designed so that it is expert clinicians that make the judgement on whether medical cannabis is appropriate for a patient.
Unlike Labor we are not going to start second guessing doctors, or just hand it out to anyone who wants it.
Cannabis is still an illegal product. The Government’s Controlled Access Scheme is a responsible approach that gets the balance right between providing access to medical cannabis and patient safety. It is supported by the College of GPs, Epilepsy Tasmania and the AMA.
