Addressing rising mental health demand

The Liberals $95 million Better Mental Health Care policy clearly demonstrates that we consider mental health services a priority, and will go a long way towards dealing with increasing mental health presentations, currently putting pressure on our hospital system.
This funding will open 25 more mental health beds and Tasmania’s first ever specialist adolescent mental health facilities.
It builds on the work we have done over the past four years in Government, such as the Rethink Mental Health Plan and increased funding for mental health, and is fully funded.
In contrast, Labor’s mental health policy (all three versions) has no funding for the beds near the Royal or the adolescent units, no funding for the staff, and no timeframes for delivery.
