Building the North West
- 26 Sep, 2019
Jeremy Rockliff, Minister for Education and Training
Tasmania’s construction industry is booming and the Hodgman majority Liberal Government is committed to ensuring that every region shares in the benefits.
To harness the benefits of the upcoming infrastructure developments in the region, including the UTAS West Park campus, a North West Construction Industry Forum will be held in Burnie on 26 September 2019.
The forum will focus on the employment and apprenticeship opportunities that these developments will create in the region. It will also showcase the Building Futures Program, which is designed to equip local industry with skilled workers to deliver the significant construction pipeline in the region.
Our target of a 40% increase in apprentices and trainees in the private sector by 2025 is being supported by the highest completions rates in the country and record levels of trade commencements. There has never been a better time to employ an apprentices or trainee.
The forum will be held on the Thursday 26 September 2019 from 4:00pm at the Burnie Central Townhouse Hotel.
