Infrastructure grants for community racing clubs
- 27 Sep, 2019
Elise Archer, Minister for Racing
The Hodgman majority Liberal Government is calling for applications from Tasmanian community racing clubs for infrastructure grants.
Delivering on our election commitment, the annual $250,000 grants program will help local race clubs to fund infrastructure and maintenance needs.
A focus for this first round of grants will be to improve safety at race tracks, while there will also be provision to fund upgrades of facilities at racecourses for the benefit of racing industry participants as well as racecourse patrons.
Tasmanian racing clubs, whether they are for greyhounds, harness or thoroughbreds, are a significant part of the Tasmanian racing industry and are important for the growth and development of the industry.
This is particularly the case in rural and regional areas of Tasmania.
These clubs are supported by hard-working, committed volunteers who contribute significantly to the local communities in which they live through these clubs.
Through these grants and support, the Hodgman majority Liberal Government has created an environment that promotes the growth of Tasmania’s racing industry.
Applications open on 30 September 2019 and close on 11 November 2019.
