You in a Year – Lifestyle and opportunity attracting people to Tasmania
- 07 Jan, 2018
Peter Gutwein, Minister for State Growth
Tasmania’s economy is going from strength to strength. Our business and consumer confidence is amongst the highest in the country and we have an enviable way of life.
So there has never been a better time to invest, find a job or start a business in Tasmania and that is why the Hodgman Liberal Government is launching the You in a Year campaign.
This is an initiative of our Population Growth Strategy which aims to build on our strengthening economy and grow the Tasmanian population to 650,000 by 2050.
Tasmania is the best place on earth to live and this new campaign aims to encourage people, especially former Tasmanians living interstate to move to Tasmania.
You in a Year particularly targets people with the skill sets we need to ensure Tasmania has a strong and prosperous future.
We are a state of opportunity and couples like Susan and Craig Richman are leading the charge, having returned to Tasmania three years ago after living in the UK for almost 20 years and have now added a significant investment, The Bluestone Bar & Kitchen to their impressive current premises.
You in a Year will start appearing through social media and online platforms from Monday, initially targeting Sydney-siders.
This campaign has been developed to attract people to our State such as skilled tradespeople, health specialists, hospitality and tourism employees, and will complement our programs and investment in education, training and the upskilling of our existing and upcoming workforce.
