Jeremy Rockliff, Minister for Education and Training
In our Plan to Build Your Future, the Hodgman Liberal Government has prioritised investment in education from the early years through to Year 12, because a good education is the pathway to a good job and a better life.
Quality early years education, is a key factor in lifting educational outcomes for all Tasmanian children, which is why we are investing $15 million in upgrades to early learning facilities and brand new Kindergartens around the state.
This is a significant investment in the wellbeing of students and staff across Tasmania and demonstrates the Hodgman Liberal Government’s commitment to creating environments that are welcoming, safe and inclusive for all.
Extensive evidence-based research shows that continuing to invest in the early years is vital to helping our youngest children and their families reach their full potential over their lifetime.
The funding will go towards new kindergarten buildings in 10 schools and refurbishment of kindergarten buildings in 18 schools across the State.
A further 79 schools will receive funding for minor upgrades to existing kindergarten facilities.
