Labor-Greens vote against Tasmanian salmon and spineless Lambie no-shows

In a cold-hearted blow to Tasmanian salmon workers, Labor and the Greens last night joined forces to vote against a Motion of Support for Tasmanian salmon in the Senate – and the spineless Lambies didn’t even show up.

The Senate Urgency Motion called for certainty for the future of Tasmania’s salmon industry, and the hundreds of direct and indirect jobs that depend on it.

Yet, when push came to shove Labor showed their true colours - teaming up with the Greens to defeat the motion 29 votes to 21.

And, what’s worse, Jacqui Lambie and Tammy Tyrrell didn’t even bother showing up to the debate.

It’s clear Ms Lambie is embarrassed by her cold-hearted abandonment of the hard working men and women she’s supposed to represent, whose lives and communities rely on Macquarie Harbour salmon farming.

A Labor-led Coalition of Chaos with the Greens and Lambies will shut down Tasmania’s salmon industry.

Only the Liberals 100 per cent back Tasmania’s salmon workers and a strong future for Tasmania’s salmon farming sector.
